The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) - Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) Joint Research Center for Human Reproduction and Related Diseases was officially inaugurated on 25 April 2014. Mr. Jiang Si-xian, Party Secretary of SJTU led a delegation to join the ceremony with Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK. Prof. Chan Hsiao-chang, Director of the Epithelial Cell Biology Research Centre (ECBRC) of CUHK and Professor of the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), together with Prof. Huang He-feng, Director of the Affiliated International Peace Maternal and Child Health Hospital (the Hospital), School of Medicine of SJTU will serve as the Co-Directors of the joint center. During the ceremony, Prof. Sung and Mr. Jiang signed on behalf of CUHK and SJTU a collaborative agreement to consolidate the work plan of the joint center.
Our School members including Prof. K.P. Fung, Acting Director, Prof. Woody W.Y. Chan, Associate Director (Graduate Education), and Prof. Christopher H.K. Cheng, Associate Director (Undergraduate Education) also attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing of the agreement. After the ceremony, Prof. Chan Hsiao-chang and Prof. Fung Kwok-pui guided Mr. Jiang and the delegation to visit the ECBRC and other core facilities of SBS.
