A delegation led by Mr. Li Jiheng, the Governor of Yunnan Province, visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 8 May 2013. Apart from meeting with the University Management, the delegation was arranged to meet with Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of the School of Biomedical Sciences and other representatives of the School to learn our recent development and discuss opportunities for research collaborations. They were then guided to visit the Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ)/CUHK Joint Laboratory of Bioresources and Molecular Research in Common Diseases and other core laboratories of the School set up in the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building.
Indeed, our School has been in close interaction with the academia of Yunnan Province through the joint establishment with the KIZ (see previous academic exchange activities conducted in July 2010, June and August 2012 and end November to early December 2012). The visit deepened our mutual understanding which laid down a more solid foundation for pursuing more concrete collaborations in the future.
