Co-chaired by Prof. Fanny M.C. Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor / Vice-President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Prof. Tan Tieniu, Vice-President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the 3rd annual meeting of the Steering Committee on Collaboration between CUHK and CAS was held on 23 March 2016 in CUHK. Including members from the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), more than 30 CUHK and CAS members of various joint laboratories and projects attended the meeting and reported on their progress made in the past year.
During the meeting, Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of SBS and Co-Director of CUHK-Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH), CAS Joint Research Laboratory on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine; Prof. Feng Bo, Assistant Professor of SBS and Associate Director of CUHK-GIBH, CAS Joint Research Laboratory on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine; Prof. Lin Ge, Professor of SBS and Co-Director of CUHK-Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM), CAS Joint Laboratory for Promoting Globalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and Prof. Zhao Hui, Assistant Professor of SBS and CUHK representative of CAS Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ) – CUHK Joint Laboratory of Bio-resources and Molecular Research of Common Diseases, shared with the participants the recent progress and achievements, the future development plans of the respective joint laboratories, and how the collaboration in science and technological development would contribute to the national strategic plan of One-Belt-One-Road. The CAS delegates were arranged to tour the three named joint laboratories being located in the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building in CUHK after the meeting.
