On 10 April 2010, Prof. Wai-Yee Chan, Director, School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) of CUHK, led a delegation to visit the School of Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS) of Zhejiang University, China for academic exchange and exploring research collaboration opportunity. Apart from the SBS Director, the delegation members included Prof Woody Chan, Prof Christopher Cheng, Prof Kenneth Lee and Prof Chao Wan.
During the meeting with the SBMS representatives, the delegation gave an introduction of SBS and its new articulated MPhil-PhD Programme. After the presentations, SBS Director and Prof. Hongwei Ouyang, Executive Dean of SBMS of Zhejiang University signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Collaborations between the two schools. A seminar was held after the signing ceremony, during which representatives from both sides introduced the work of their research on biomedical sciences and exchanged views on topics of reproduction, endocrinology, stem cells and bone development.
In early February this year, our School signed with SBMS of Zhejiang University an agreement in training postgraduate students. The visit would further strengthen the academic and research links between the two schools.
