Biography

Dr SHINDE Shivani Salil is an MBBS from Nagpur University (India) and an MD in Microbiology from Seth GSMC & KEM Hospital, Mumbai. She is a certified faculty by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India. As an Assistant Professor of Clinical Microbiology, she has been a dedicated and student-focused educator with 9 years of experience in teaching undergraduate and post graduate medical students. She has also taught physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, medical laboratory science & biomedical students.

Her teaching experience is complemented by a background of promoting quality control and quality assurance in corporate and private laboratories as she is an NABL accredited Technical Assessor in Microbiology.

She also has a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) from Hong Kong University. She is a published writer with a book in the Historical Fiction genre to her credit. She has also co-edited and contributed for anthologies and has been writing on a personal and professional basis on various platforms related to health and awareness among other topics.

  1. Special interest in Antimicrobial agents, antimicrobial resistance and stewardship.
  2. To work closely with students to fully ground them in fundamental concepts and integrating technology to enhance learning.
  3. Developing curricula in Clinical Microbiology with special focus on diagnostics.
  4. To develop teaching content that is clinically relevant that helps students build a stronger base and prepares them for the professional challenges that await them.
