- UGC-funded libraries may implement restricted access conditions based on COVID vaccination status for all JULAC Library Card Holders according to their university’s policy. Please check the webpages or directly with the libraries concerned for details of the conditions of entry.
By agreement among the eight UGC-funded university libraries, eligible CUHK library users can apply for a JULAC Library Card to access other UGC-funded university libraries. The JULAC Library Card has a common barcode which allows you to register with each host library when you make your first visit to that library.
Through this JULAC Library Card Project in collaboration with other JULAC libraries, the CUHK Library enables you to have wider access to resources to facilitate your research.
JULAC Borrower’s Card for:
- Full-time / part-time CUHK postgraduate students enrolled on UGC funded / non-UGC funded degree programmes
- Full-time / part-time CUHK postgraduate students enrolled on UGC funded postgraduate diploma programmes
- Full-time Teaching staff of Terms of Service A and B
- Full-time Administrative staff of Terms of Service A
- Full-time Research staff
- Visiting Faculty staff
- Emeritus Professors
Charges:

- $50 for card replacement
Please fill out the online form and submit your recent digital passport photo (JPG or PNG only). Upon receipt of your application and photo, your application will be processed within 5 working days. An email notification will be sent to you once the card is ready for pick up at the University Library, Medical Library or Legal Resources Centre.
JULAC Reader’s Card for Undergraduate Degree Students
All UGC-funded full-time / part-time undergraduate degree students are eligible for a JULAC Reader’s Card which will be valid for one academic year from 1st August to 31st July of the next year. With the JULAC Reader’s Card, students can register for admission at all the other UGC-funded university libraries for study and use of their collections in-house.
Charges
- Free for application
- $50 for card replacement
- A $50 registration fee will be charged by each host library
