I am a researcher and writer interested in critically and creatively exploring the intersections of gender, governmentality, and violence. I was previously a journalist and editor, and have worked for nearly a decade as a field-based qualitative researcher across South Asia (Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and Myanmar).
My research seeks to better understand the ways in which categories of ‘virtuous’ women codified under ‘traditional’ Hindu law have been transformed by secularisation processes in Nepal today.
