The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing technical support to teaching and learning of the studios; (b) overseeing the operation and maintenance of both studios’ facilities and apparatus equipment; (c) assisting in purchasing of equipment, teaching supplies and teaching aids, etc. on request of teaching staff; (d) maintaining security and safety control in both studios for all art production practices and department premises; and (e) providing services in relation to digital video, photo taking and related post-shooting processing.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognised university or technical institute; OR a Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate in a relevant subject from a recognised university or technical institute, plus 3 years’ post-qualification work experience; (ii) basic knowledge of metalwork, woodwork, ceramics and printmaking; (iii) a pleasant personality, team spirit, attentiveness to details and the willingness to learn; and (iv) the ability to work independently and under pressure. Possession of a valid technical certificate (e.g. Registration of Electrical Worker) will be advantageous.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year full-time contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
