Project Objectives
This project aims to enhance the competence of university teachers in programme design and implementation by developing a web-based resource package consisting of a series of modules on topics in curriculum studies, including approaches to curriculum design, needs analysis, curriculum goals, curriculum sequencing, curriculum implementation, assessment and curriculum evaluation, etc.
Description of process, outcomes or deliverables
Literature review, document analysis and needs analysis were conducted at the preparation stage to identify major topics and to produce preliminary outlines of module content. Fourteen modules each consisting of theoretical input and examples of good practices presented in multimodal formats were developed. The module drafts were then reviewed by a curriculum expert and refinement made with reference to the expert’s comment. A web platform will be constructed to house the modules for dissemination and sustainability.
Evaluation
The content of the modules has been reviewed by an expert in curriculum studies for accuracy and relevance. University teachers will be invited to review the content and their feedback on the usefulness and relevance of the modules will be collected.
Dissemination, diffusion and impact
The website which houses the resource package will be uploaded to the Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR) repository on teaching resources and it will also be introduced at the Professional Development Courses organized by CLEAR. Some of the modules may also be used in the seminars and workshops organized by CLEAR. The project has made available and accessible input on curriculum design and implementation to further enhance teachers’ competence in designing and delivering their courses via online mode or in the classroom.
