Project Objectives

The project is to encourage teachers to move forward from the basic use of eLearning towards developing more sophisticated or more complete eLearning environments for their students.

Description of process, outcomes or deliverables

The Courseware Development Grant scheme (CDGS) has supported ten courseware development projects in the 2015–16 roll-over year. The budgets allocated for the projects range from HK$27,750 to HK$88,000, covering six Faculties. The projects are classified into different types: Mobile applications, Videos, Learning platform (system/ package with the collection of learning resource), etc.

Evaluation

The Subcommittee on Education Technologies of the IT Governance Committee (ITGC-SET) has carried out a meta-analysis of all completed and near-completed CDGS projects in order to report to the University’s Senate Committee on Teaching and Learning on the outcome and effectiveness of the scheme. The evaluation report has been submitted as an appendix to the final report of Supporting the Courseware Development Grant Scheme (CDGS) for the 2012–15 triennium.

Dissemination, diffusion and impact

A CDGS website http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/eLearning/c_tnl/cdgs/ has been developed to showcase the CDGS projects to members of the University. Since the project end date was 31 May 2016, the CDGS recipients have not yet showcased their projects by taking part in experience-sharing sessions in the Teaching and Learning Innovation Expo, an annual event jointly organized by the Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR) and the Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC) held in December yearly.
