CUHK Announces the Minimum University Requirements for JUPAS Application (2024 Entry)
The minimum University requirements for applicants with Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) are 4 core and 2 elective subjects, or 4 core and 1 elective subject and the Mathematics (Extended Part) Module 1 or 2 / Other Language subject. From 2024 entry, the minimum requirements for the 4 core subjects of Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics and Citizenship and Social Development are Levels 332A (that is, 332 and “Attained”). The minimum requirement for elective subjects is Level 3 (Grade E or above for Other Language subject). Apart from Citizenship and Social Development, the minimum level requirements for core subjects and elective subjects remain unchanged.

香港中文大學公布2024年大學聯合招生最低入學要求
由2024年起，申請入讀香港中文大學的最低要求為香港中學文憑考試四個核心科目達332A （即「332」及公民與社會發展科「達標」）, 另外兩個選修科目達3級（或一個選修科目及數學延伸單元達3級／其他語言科目達E級）。除公民與社會發展科的要求為「達標」（Attained）外，其餘核心科目及選修科目要求基本上維持不變，與現時大學最低入學要求相同。

To apply for admission to CUHK, JUPAS applicants must meet the Minimum University and Programme Requirements.
Subject to fulfilling the following conditions, JUPAS applicants with very special circumstances* may, at the discretion of the faculty deans concerned and on a case-by-case basis, be granted waivers of the Chinese Language requirement:
The applicants concerned
- should NOT have taken the Chinese Language subject in HKDSE; and
- should have obtained a pass grade or above in a Chinese subject or in another language subject (other than English and Chinese) in other recognised public examinations as approved by the University from time to time.
Alternative qualifications in Chinese Language to be accepted generally for applicants fulfilling the above specified circumstances:

Please note that some CUHK programmes are more specifically tied to the local context or may require a high level of Chinese language proficiency. They therefore do not accept application for waiver of the HKDSE Chinese Language requirement. Details of these Programme-specific Requirements for 2024 entry will be announced in due course.

在非常特殊情況下*，聯招申請人如符合下列條件，有關學院院長可按個別情況酌情豁免有關中國語文之入學條件：

Applicants need to achieve the “Attained” level in Citizenship and Social Development in order to fulfill the University minimum requirements for admission.
The “Attained” level in the subject will not be considered in the calculation of admission scores.
申請人須於公民與社會發展科考獲「達標」以符合申請入讀中大最低要求，惟該科目的「達標」等級不會被用於入學分數計算中。
