CUHK Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rocky S. Tuan introduced the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) SDG Education for Global Citizenship (SDG4GC) programme co-led by CUHK and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand at the APRU Annual Presidents’ Meeting (APM).

The SDG4GC programme is an intercultural, transdisciplinary and interactive programme that fosters global citizenship among students from 60 APRU member universities. The programme is headed by CUHK and Chulalongkorn University and is co-designed with Kyushu University in Japan, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in mainland China, Simon Fraser University in Canada, and the University of Malaya in Malaysia in collaboration with the United Nations.

Students participating in the programme will be teamed with peers from across the Pacific Rim to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), explore in-depth some of the world’s biggest challenges, and propose solutions using a framework for collaborative development of social innovation prototypes with guidance from mentors and experts in the field.

Themed ‘Shaping the Future of Health and Wellbeing’, the inaugural programme will be held from November 2022 to March 2023. For more information of the programme, please visit the programme webpage.
