Prof. Sora Kim of the School of Journalism and Communication received the Non-EU Teaching Mobility Award offered by the University of Vienna to undertake a short-term teaching visit during 7–29 June. She taught a course ‘Experimental Research Designs in Social Sciences’ as part of the doctoral programme in Social Sciences.

Students were from various disciplines, such as political science, educational psychology, communication, and marketing. Prof. Kim enjoyed teaching the class and was impressed by the dynamics with the students. She shared, ‘Thanks to the diverse student backgrounds, both students and I have been much enlightened while conducting different types of experiments.’ The experience also gave Prof. Kim fresh perspectives on teaching. ‘As interdisciplinary research is a growing trend, it would be interesting to offer a methodology course that can cater to different social science disciplines to PhD students. I always encourage them to keep pursuing interdisciplinary research in their future career.’
