Preparing students to meet the challenges of tomorrow

The Office of Academic Links has been active in providing and promoting learning opportunities to prepare our students to become global leaders of tomorrow. Recently, our students participated in the Global Health Student Case Competition and the Undergraduate Leaders’ Program (ULP) organised by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) to be equipped to take on various global challenges.

Team ACES, a CUHK student team comprising four students from the Faculty of Medicine was one of the two runners-up in the 6th APRU Global Health Student Case Competition which attracted participation from 121 teams from 37 countries. Hosted by the APRU Global Health Program in partnership with Amazon Web Services, the competition required participants to propose a realistic, well-designed, and innovative solution for the challenge ‘Technology-Driven Solutions to the COVID-19 Infodemic’. The task was to develop or adapt a technology-driven tool to help reduce the spread of misinformation and increase health literacy in one Asia-Pacific country. Team ACES entered the competition with the app COVIDENCE for use in China. Click here to watch the team’s video entry.
