CUHK Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rocky S. Tuan recently undertook an overseas visit to the University’s key partners in North America. He paid a visit to the University of Toronto (UofT) in mid-July and met with President Prof. Meric S. Gertler and other senior officers to renew ties and discuss potential collaborations in areas such as biomedicine, health equity, and co-op education for students.
In mid-August, Prof. Tuan visited The University of Chicago (UChicago) and met with its new President Prof. Paul Alivisatos to exchange the latest developments at the two universities. He also met with Provost Prof. Ka Yee Lee and other representatives to explore ways to deepen teaching and research collaborations.
Both UofT and UChicago are world-leading research universities and have been identified as key partners of CUHK. There have been active collaborations with each university in different areas ranging from business, engineering, humanities, medicine, science, to social science. Funding schemes are in place to support research development, joint PhD student supervision, and researcher mobility with these universities. For more information, please click here.
