CUHK Holds Meeting with Great Bay University
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) met online with representatives of Great Bay University (GBU) on 25 November to discuss the collaboration plan of joint institute. Representatives of CUHK included Prof. Song Chunshan, Dean of Science; Prof. Prof. Benny Zee, Director of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services; Dr. Lin Huangquan, Director of Office for Greater Bay Area Developments; Ms. Wing Wong, Director of China Engagement. Participants from GBU included Prof. Dai Zhangliang, Head of GBU Administration; Ms. Tan Yanzhen, Deputy Director of GBU Planning Office; Dr. Nie Juan, Director of GBU Administration Office. The two parties discussed the development plan of the proposed joint institute comprising working schedule, funding support and supervision of PhD students.
With the aim of enhancing the development of education, research and knowledge transfer in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), CUHK and GBU agreed to build a joint institute in advanced materials and green energy with the support of the Dongguan Municipal Government, integrating joint efforts of higher education institutes and local government with the world.
