Call for applications: The University of Sydney – Sydney China Visitors Program
The University of Sydney (USyd) is inviting applications to the Sydney China Visitors Program which provides academics the opportunities to visit USyd to conduct collaborative research in Chinese Studies.
The Sydney China Visitors Program supports two types of fellow:
1. Sydney China Distinguished Fellows
The fellowship within the discipline of Chinese Studies in the School of Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at USyd support Distinguished Fellows to visit USyd for 4-12 weeks each year. One or more Distinguished Fellows will be appointed each year. Preference will be given to academics engaged in research on Chinese Culture, Chinese Literature or translation studies. Scholars who have an outstanding record of research are welcome to apply.
Selected fellows will be provided with return economy airfare, an accommodation subsidy of AU$200/day, a stipend of AU$1,000/week, office space; and library and related systems access.
Application will be invited twice a year with the following deadlines:
- 31 December 2022 for the start of the Fellowship from July 2023.
- 30 June 2023 for the start of the Fellowship from January 2024.
2. China Studies Centre Visiting Fellows
The China Studies Centre at USyd supports the appointment of overseas academics to visit USyd and the Centre to conduct collaborative research on aspects of China and Chinese societies with staff at USyd. Scholars who have an outstanding record of research are welcome to apply.
Visiting Fellows will be appointed to honorary positions in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the China Studies Centre under the provisions for Honorary Appointment at USyd.
