Program 5 aims to explore how AI methodologies on human-level scene understanding, causality inference and personal behavioral analysis can be deployed to specific engineering processes for enhanced performance and expanded capabilities. Projects of this programme include “AI-based Personalized Product Design and Fabrication” and “Machine-learning Enabled Automation Processes and Prototyping” .

We hope that the programme can be extendable to other industrial processes, serving to advance the reindustrialization efforts of Hong Kong. The Programme brings together a team of leading experts in AI and automation with strong track records in the fields in terms of academic research and technology transfer, and commercialization to ensure its success.
