Perennial small herb, with globose tuberous root, 7-8mm in diameter, with numerous fibrous root. Basal lobes of leaves more or less overlapped, sparsely or densely covered with small coarse hairs on adaxial surface, usually purplish and strigose along veins on abaxial surface. Margin irregularly diserrate, sometimes notching. Flowers slightly scented. Cymes/ dichasium twice or thrice branched, primary branchlets 2.5-4 cm, secondary brachlets 7-13 cm. Peduncles slender. Bracteoles membranous. Male flowers: perianth segments 4, outer 2 ovate, 6 –12 mm, inner 2 obovate-oblong; stamen numerous. Female flowers: smaller, perianth-segments 3, two larger, half-orbicular, ca. 3 mm, another one smaller and narrower, oblong; ovary 3-locular. Capsule with 3 unequal wings.
