Management

While many organisations recruit staff directly into management roles – e.g. human resources, logistics, marketing and sales – more and more are utilising management trainee programmes to groom new graduates for management. Graduate training schemes typically take one to two years and involve job rotation among all the organisation’s departments. Upon completion of the programme, trainees are permanently placed in management roles in the department that best suits their demonstrated talents and skills.

Consulting

Management consultancy firms have many different specialisations, ranging from strategy, process/operational and IT to economic and environmental areas. While most firms seek experienced recruits with years of experience in a management or technical function, many also recruit new graduates as research analysts, business analysts or associate consultants. These employers look for extremely high levels of achievement, both academic and extra-curricular, in candidates.
