Sponsoring Internship
The best approach for students to actualize knowledge is through practice. Internship gives students an opportunity to translate school theories into real world experience. Combined with their career interest, the internship serves as a tool to assess the passion, technical skills and market sensitivities required of a graduate intake.
Our centre works closely with Faculties and academic units to propose the best recruitment strategies to employers from different industries, commensurate with talented students from various programmes. If you consider launching an internship programme but are unsure where to start, contact us at 3943 7202 or cpdc@cuhk.edu.hk and we will render advice on programme design and timeline, recruitment process and publicity channels.
There are several department-based or faculty-based internship programmes in CUHK under the supervision of a faculty member. For those internships which bear credits, students' performances will be assessed by employer’s feedback and the final assignment. Please contact respective school and faculty to find out more:

School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM)
All students of School of Hotel and Tourism Management are required to gain hands-on experience and to participate in industry-related (hospitality and tourism operations) internship experiences during the summers of their second and third years. This is a credit module. The duration of internship is calculated to be a minimum of 12 full-time work weeks per summer, and a minimum of four hundred and eighty working hours.
