Points to Note in Job Hunting Process

Beware of the following in your job hunting process

  • If you come across a recruitment advertisement for a well-paid and high-ranked position but ask for no experience at all, be careful, that might be a trap.
  • Do not be scared off by the list of requirements stated in the advertisement. Even if you do not meet some of them, you may still have a try.
  • Job title does not always reflect the nature of the job. You should also consider the job requirement and description when assessing your interest and competence. Do not be mistaken by fabulous titles.
  • Beware of pyramid scheme
  • In case you receive offers from more than one organization, you should analyze the upside and downside of each job before making your decision. Once a decision is made, you should give your reply politely and on time no matter you are accepting or declining the offer.
  • Before accepting the offer, you should fully understand the duties of the job, the employment and the contract terms. Pay attention to items such as salary, benefits, working hours, probation period and termination/resignation procedures.
  • Try your best not to delay your date of report for duty.
  • If you have on board and for some reasons you have decided to resign from the job, you should appropriately inform the employer as soon as possible, take the initiative to explain your decision with reason and apologize. It is understandable that as a fresh graduate you may not know which job type fits yourself the best until you have experienced the job itself, however terminate your contract without reasons after a few days of work will displease the employer and affect your personal reputation.
