Prof Clement Tham bestowed the Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia

Prof Clement Tham, Chairman of DOVS CUHK, was conferred the Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, at the Opening Ceremony of the 54th Malaysia-Singapore Congress of Medicine, on 27 August 2021, Friday. It is a high honour to Prof Tham, to the Department, and to the field of ophthalmology and visual sciences in Hong Kong.

Prof. Tham shares, “I believe this is a recognition of our great teamwork in service, education and research in the field of ophthalmology, and I am very much privileged to receive this honor. As a Malaysian citizen myself, this honor means a lot to me personally.”

The Academy of Medicine was founded in Singapore in 1957 to assure the maintenance of a high standard of professional and ethical practice. Following the separation of Singapore from Malaysia on 9th August, 1965, an autonomous Academy of Medicine of Malaysia was formed in 1966. The Malaysia-Singapore Congress of Medicine is held alternately between the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.  It has become the most important scientific meeting in the Academy’s calendar.  The Congress of Medicine provides an important link of kinship and close ties between Academicians in both countries.

Our heartiest congratulations to Prof Tham!
