The study on “Hepatoma-intrinsic CCRK inhibition diminishes myeloid-derived suppressor cell immunosuppression and enhances immune-checkpoint blockade efficacy” supports the therapeutic potential of targeting myeloid-derived suppressor cells to empower cancer immunotherapy and provides the rationale for targeting cell cycle-related kinase in immunotherapy for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (Gut. 2017 Sep 22. pii: gutjnl-2017-314032. doi: 10.1136/gutjnl-2017-314032.
