Research Interests

Chemical and synthetic biology

We are interested in the chemistry, biology, and engineering of proteins.

Site-selective protein reactions
Residue-specific (cysteine, tyrosine, and lysine) reactions of proteins, enzymes, and antibodies in vitro and in cells

Multienzyme complexes
Multienzyme complexes, synthetic metabolon, and synthetic organelles; regulation of metabolic flux in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells for better biosynthesis of carotenoids, artemisinin, cannabinoids, or amorphadiene, in vitro and in cells

Regenerative medicine
Engineering exosomes, extracellular vesicles, and cells for targeted therapy of cartilage and skin regeneration, peptides or enzymes against bacterial infection, and cancer therapies in cells and in vivo
