Over 130 scientists and experts from China, UK, USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, India and South Africa, joined the International Conference on DNA Technology for Authentication, Quality Control and Conservation of Herbal Material, at The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 12-14 December 2016.
This was the first international conference organized by the Centre jointly with Shiu-Ying Hu Herbarium, School of Life Sciences. The event was cordially supported by Department of Health of HKSAR Government, Chung Chi College of CUHK and Institute for Control of Chinese Traditional Medicine and Ethnic Medicine of National Institutes for Food and Drug Control from China. This conference featured on scientific advancements for authentication, quality control and conservation of herbal material using DNA technology. The most updated molecular techniques and the potential applications of genomic techniques and databases were discussed.
