The International Symposium on Quality and Efficacy of Chinese Medicines was held on 3-6 Aug at Shiyan, China. It was organized by Chinese Medicine Experimental Pharmacology Branch of China Association of Chinese Medicine, Chinese Medicine Branch of Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association and Hubei University of Medicine. The seminar aims at raising the standard of herbal medicine. Research projects related to the enhancement of the quality assurance and quality control of herbal medicine and the investigation of pharmacological effects were discussed. Prof Shaw, Director of our center, was invited to give a talk on the topic of Molecular Authentication and Quality Control of Medicinal Materials and Their Products.
