Abstract

In recent years, there has been a multifold increase in the number of researchers who use statistical packages on personal computers for data analyses. These packages are especially useful for small to medium size educational and social research. The present article examines their advantages and limitations using SPSS/PC+ as an example. Suggestions of how the package can be used most efficiently and ways of overcoming the limitations are also discussed.
