Baroque is both a crucial period and style in the art-historical development of Western culture. Not often can we view a substantial amount of Western masterpieces in Hong Kong, the collection of Baroque paintings of Museo di Capodimonte on loan to Hong Kong currently offers us a rare opportunity for art appreciation. Instead of looking at the exhibits as a layman, one can acquire a better understanding of the works through a more professional and academic approach. This course intends to teach the basic skills of art appreciation, through both art history study and appreciation of original works by museum guided tours. (Quota 16.)
