The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) forged a strategic partnership to establish Asia’s first of its kind CUHK-SJTU Joint Research Centre in Diabetes Genomics and Precision Medicine in 2017.

The CUHK and SJTU diabetes research groups have been in productive collaboration and at the forefront of research in the genetic basis of diabetes and related complications. The Centre provides a systematic platform focusing on diabetes genomics, translational research and precision medicine in diabetes.

Focus of research -

•   Genetic basis underlying young-onset diabetes in Chinese

•   Genetic basis of diabetic complications

•   Use of genetic information to improve and personalize diabetes care
