On the one hand, a good practical problem can inspire new theoretical constructions. On the other hand, a theory’s agility to offer solutions to complex, important practical problems is a selection criterion in the marketplace of ideas — sticky theories are selected for propagation because they afford bold answers to big questions.
Please take a leisure review of the impactful research our faculty members. Please join for on a walk on the seashore--if we may use Isaac Newton’s metaphor. When you find a few smooth pebbles and several pretty shells, you may contemplate many other unusual uses of the shells and the pebbles you have found and imagine what the great ocean of truth remains to be discovered by you and us together.
