Highlights on Term-break Programmes

Christmas and New Year are around the corner! Apart from planning our festival celebration, such as home decoration, big feasts and wrapping up presents, have we ever thought that there are much more meanings beyond for this holiday season? Students of the College are going to explore a lot of adventures, from campus to countryside, from virtual to in-person, from relaxing to vibrant atmospheres, and find out the true spirits of the season – it is a time for sharing, reunion, refresh and growth.

At Home, College students are welcome to participate in movie night. Resident tutors will also give presents at the hostels to bring joy and warmth to students.

Every Christmas, students pay a visit to the Hong Kong Society for the Aged Madam Ho Sin Hang Home for the Elderly and host a Christmas party for the residents there. This year, students prepared an online Christmas party for the seniors and had a good time with them.

The College’s running team is going to take part in local running events. Members from Runner Force have been trained up for months in order to strive for their personal best in races. Besides, College members and students of the College will go hiking. A guided tour will be provided to them to highlight the stories of the beautiful landscapes in Hong Kong.

In the first semester, the College held an urban sketching workshop for College students on campus. During Christmas break, the College will organize the second workshop and invite a local artist to teach the participants on the tips and skills on urban sketching. Additionally, a cultural walk about “Society and Economy in an Old City” will be arranged to introduce students to the historic aspects of Causeway Bay and Tin Hau.
