The College’s 10th Anniversary Banquet
S.H. Ho College hosted the 10th anniversary banquet on 19 October. In the form of high table dinner, the banquet enabled more than 600 guests and the College community to witness the College’s historic moment and share their pleasure together in a ceremonious and festive ambience. Hosted by Prof. Samuel Sun, College Master, the dinner had Dr. Norman Leung, Chairman of the Council of CUHK; Dr. David Ho, Chairman of The S.H. Ho Foundation; Dr Tzu-leung Ho, Chairman of the Committee of Overseers, S.H. Ho College, CUHK; Mr. Norman Ho, Overseer of S.H. Ho College and Director of the Ho Tim Foundation; Mr. Thomas Liang, Overseer of S.H. Ho College and Chief Executive of the Wei Lun Foundation; Prof. Lawrence Lau, former Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK; Prof. Ambrose King, former Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Prof. Michael Hui, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Miss Eva Hong, Chairperson of S.H. Ho College Alumni Association; and Miss Angela Ng, President of Executive Council, S.H. Ho College Student Union as high table guests. More than 20 family members of Dr. HO Sin Hang from different corners of the world joined the dinner.
When the dinner began, five student flag bearers led Prof. Samuel Sun and high table guests into the hall. Two new flags with the 10th anniversary logos which were designed by Mr. Lukas Emanuel Klier, Winner of the Best Design and Mr. Dimitar Metodiev Andonov, Winner of the Most Popular Award at the logo design competition.
Prof. Sun reaffirmed his vision for the S.H. Ho College as a “home” of its students under full residence and communal dinner. Miss Eva Hong hoped that alumni of the College would be united through activities of the alumni association and maintain strong ties with their alma mater.
Guests and students saw funny birthday cake cutting, musical pieces played by the SHHO Music Band, and two commemorative video clips produced by alumni. Guests were also presented with exquisite souvenirs.
