Not Just a Selfie: Inquiries of the Present Exhibition on Display
16March2022
From 18 February to 14 March, the College opened the first-ever Morningside exhibition featuring student artwork. Curated by Junior Fellow Juliet Li Levesque, the aim of the exhibition was to create a space for students to display their creative endeavours for the College and University community to see.
The exhibition was inspired by our One Book Programme selection, Are You Enjoying? by Mira Sethi. The title of the exhibition, Not Just a Selfie: Inquiries of the Present drew on the book’s ability to explore temporality and identity through creative means, acting as a portrait. Sethi’s short stories depict modern Pakistani society by providing various glimpses into different personal lives and exploring identity through literary portraiture.
To house the exhibition, the Morningside College Café was transformed into a gallery space.
