The University 19 Part 1 Scholar Scheme. Important public lectures conducted at CUHK are also broadcast live online at its close partner institutions on the mainland and in Taiwan. Student interflow activities are actively promoted at university, college and faculty levels. CUHK students participate in short-term exchange visits to the mainland and Taiwan, and the University also receives student delegations and organizes interflow activities, Summer Placement Programme and Research Training Programme for Mainland and Taiwan students. In response to rapid economic growth and the need for high-calibre management executives in Greater China, the University has launched a number of joint postgraduate programmes with its close partners including Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Shanghai National Accounting Institute. The University is also involved in providing training courses to governmental agencies, business sector and universities on the mainland. The University collaborates with the Shenzhen Municipal Government in promoting linkages with Shenzhen in education, science research, training of talent. The CAS-CUHK Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT) was established, comprising Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Integration Technology, Institute of Biomedical and Health Engineering, and Institute of Advanced Computing and Digital Engineering. CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute (SZRI) established in Shenzhen Virtual University Park provides a pivotal base for CUHK members to conduct teaching, research and technology transfer. University’s Beijing Liaison Office and Shanghai Collaboration Centre, located in Peking University and CUHK-CAS Shanghai Branch respectively, render assistance to exchange activities on the mainland and help enhance co-operation with mainland institutions.
