General

Tiffany So received her medical degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia and completed internship and basic training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She completed Radiology training at Alfred Health in Melbourne, training in diagnostic radiology with subspecialty training rotations in trauma imaging, thoracic and lung transplant imaging, body imaging and neuroradiology. Dr So is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists and a registered specialist in Diagnostic Radiology in Australia and New Zealand. She has a particular interest in neuroradiology including stroke and cerebrovascular imaging, imaging of traumatic head injury and brain inflammation and infection and head and neck imaging. She has completed a Master of Medicine in Radiology, with her work focusing on traumatic injuries to the dural venous sinuses.

In 2018, Dr So joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is currently actively involved in undergraduate teaching and postgraduate radiology resident training. She is a general radiologist at the Department of Imaging and Interventional Radiology at the Prince of Wales Hospital, New Territories East Cluster involved in the Hospital Authority clinical service, and part of the neuroradiology team providing diagnostic neuroimaging services to patients at the Prince of Wales Hospital.

Dr So is a member of the European Society of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, The Korean Society of Radiology, The Australian and New Zealand Society of Neuroradiology, Abdominal Radiology Group Australia and New Zealand, and American Roentgen Ray Society.

Teaching Profile

Current teaching profile includes undergraduate teaching (CUHK 4th and final year medical students), postgraduate radiology resident training (FRCR trainees), and visiting students from international institutions, in the form of lectures, small group and clinical tutorials, flipped classroom teaching, on the job teaching as well as informal tutorials. Dr So is a major contributor in curriculum design in the undergraduate radiology teaching program at CUHK, which incorporates both conventional deliveries and eLearning. She is actively involved in curriculum planning and the development of courseware material and assessments.

Her most recent teaching projects include: curriculum development in Abdominal Ultrasound (2018-2019), in which she was the project leader for eLearning courseware development (Academic IT Steering Committee (AITSC) Courseware Development Grant, The Chinese University of Hong Kong); and eLearning in Thoracic Imaging (2019 -). She takes an interest in quality improvement in medical education and the techniques and approaches to maintain a quality teaching and student learning experience; in the past year attending several relevant workshops and seminars related to these areas.

Dr So’s research interests include stroke and cerebrovascular imaging, traumatic head injury, imaging of brain inflammation and infection, nasopharyngeal carcinoma and head and neck imaging, and general neuroradiology.

Her recent research projects include work in the following areas: intracranial hypotension, imaging of nasopharyngeal carcinoma including NPC nodal disease, nasopharyngeal changes related to Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection, and Doppler ultrasound of the carotid and vertebral arteries
