In appreciation of the staunch support from Dr. Yeung Ming-biu, Founder and Chairman of Oriental Watch Holdings Limited, the naming ceremony of the Yeung Ming Biu Indoor Sports Centre was held at the University Sports Centre on 21 December 2013. Officiating at the ceremony were Dr. Yeung Ming-biu and Mrs. Yeung Au Po-kee; Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK; Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Prof. Dennis Kee-pui Ng, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor and University Dean of Students of CUHK; Mr. Eric Shu-pui Ng, University Registrar and Secretary of CUHK. Dr. Yeung’s family members, friends, and close to one hundred scholarship and bursary recipients supported by Dr. and Mrs. Yeung took part in the ceremony.

Over the years, Dr. Yeung established a number of scholarships and bursaries for elite athletes and other students, enhanced sports facilities and supported numerous sports events at the University. Prof. Sung thanked Dr. and Mrs. Yeung for their generous support. He highly regarded Dr. Yeung for his long-term commitment to the advancement of education and his dedication in nurturing sports talents for Hong Kong. "Dr. Yeung’s passion and philanthropy set an excellent role model for our young people."
