Assessment Policy of Taught Programmes of Mathematics

  1. Mathematics assessment policy is set according to the principles of assessment specified by the Senate of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
  2. Mathematics assessments are guided by OBA (Outcome-based Approach) curriculum design.
  3. Mathematics courses are using criterion-referenced assessments.
  4. Grade descriptors are used in assessments of Mathematics courses.
  5. Assessment tasks and how they are used towards overall assessment of a course will be given in the corresponding course outline or course webpages.

Grade Descriptors

Grade descriptors are broad specification of criteria by which standards are defined for grades.
They serve as signals that enable students to understand the level of performance and the quality of work expected.
