Congratulations on Ping Luo's winning the 2013 Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship Award!

Ping Luo, a HKPF supervised by Prof. Sean Tang, has won the 2013 Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship Award! This year, over 100 distinguished Ph.D. candidates from 45 leading research universities/institutions were nominated for fellowships. Applicants included candidates from the China mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. Each candidate's credentials, publications, and research projects were thoroughly evaluated by a review committee and only 10 students were awarded fellowships.

A cash award will be provided to support Luo's research and academic endeavors. Moreover, Microsoft Research Asia (Beijing) will provide a 3-month visiting research opportunity, during which he will be doing research at a top international research institute under the guidance of an experienced researcher.
