Congratulations to Zhang Wei, our PhD student, for achieving the top 9 among 40,000 data scientists in Kaggle data mining competition platform!

We are pleased to announce Zhang Wei, our PhD student superised by Prof. Tang Xiaoou, for achieving the top 9 among 40,000 data scientists in Kaggle data mining competition platform in June 2012! He took part in six competition and won the champion in International Conference on Frontiers in Handwriting Recognition (ICFHR) 2012 - Arabic Writer Identification contest in April 2012. Kaggle is an innovative solution for statistical/analytics outsourcing. Companies, governments and researchers present datasets and problems - the world's best data scientists then compete to produce the best solutions.
