Biography

Changhong Zhao received B.E. in automation from Tsinghua University and Ph.D. in EE from Caltech. He joined CUHK after his first job with NREL. He received the Wilts Prize for best Ph.D. thesis in Caltech EE, the Hong Kong RGC Early Career Award, and the IEEE PES Prize Paper Award. He was also a recipient or finalist of other awards for best paper, thesis, or project. He is interested in the theory and algorithms for control and optimization, with applications in networked systems such as the power grid.
