- Systems
Our system team is seeking postdoc fellows and research assistants to work on projects related to distributed machine learning systems, deep learning frameworks and optimization, graph database, graph processing systems, stream processing systems, batch processing systems, job schedulers, etc. Appointments would be one year initially, and can be extended based on performance.
Postdoc applicants should have a good track record in one or more of the following areas: (1) distributed systems, (2) database, (3) data mining, (4) machine learning.
Applicants for Research Assistant positions must be proficient in programming (C/C++) and excellent in data structure and algorithm design.

- Deep learning and data analytics
Our lab is also hiring postdoc fellows and research assistants to develop new algorithms and tools for deep learning (e.g., graph neural networks, federated learning, adversarial learning) and data analytics. - CUHK UG student helpers

- Undergraduate research assistants
We are hiring final-year undergraduate students as research assistants (non-final-year undergraduate students may also apply if you can stay with us for at least 6 months) or summer interns. Applicants must be proficient in programming (C/C++) and excellent in data structure and algorithm design, or have strong background in Math and machine learning. Appointments can be up to one year, and extendable when the student graduates. - Big data systems - backend building
Multiple positions including Project Coordinator II, Research Associate, Postdoctoral Fellow, Research Assistants, and Junior Research Assistants are available. The appointees will work on a project designed to increase primary school students' physical activity using tools in information technology. The project is led by the Faculty of Education, supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The appointees will work with other teammates to design and develop a back-end system that consists of a storage system, a data analytics platform, and a library package with various data analytics tools for the project.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field; (ii) rich experience in C++ projects; (iii) good knowledge of database and storage systems; (iv) good skills in operation/automation/configuration on Linux (managing machines/network); (v) knowledge in machine learning and data analytics; and/or (vi) experience in software projects. Appointment will be made on a 6-12 months contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement. Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. CUHK offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care.
