關於 傅健士教授

James D. Frankel，出生及成長於美國紐約，於哥倫比亞大學獲得東亞語言與文化系學士學位，及宗教系碩士及博士學位。Frankel教授主要研究範圍包括中國伊斯蘭教的歷史，學術興趣強調思想歷史與宗教和文化合一。他的博士論文考察晚明（1368-1644）清初（1644-1911）中國伊斯蘭學術文學，特別考查中國穆斯林文人劉智（約1660-約1730）之著作。 Frankel教授的第一本著作，Rectifying God's Name: Liu Zhi's Confucian Translation of Monotheism and Islamic Law（University of Hawaii Press, 2011），闡述了同一主題。他曾於中國居住，並經常到亞洲和歐洲旅遊，認識不少學者和穆斯林少數族群宗教領袖。Frankel教授任教並研究伊斯蘭教，比較宗教學，中國哲學與宗教，宗教原教旨主義及神秘主義。
