Mr. CHEUNG Freeman
Freeman Cheung is the Greater China regional executive responsible for AECOM’s environmental management practice in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan and Japan, leading 300 environmental specialists serving
both public and private sector clients. Mr. Cheung is a seasoned environmental consultant currently leading the Review of the Air Quality Objectives Study for the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department.
He has directed more than 200 environmental impact assessment (EIA) and permit application encompasses major infrastructure projects including power stations, oil and gas facilities, incinerators, industrial
developments, large scaled reclamation and housing development, road and tunnel construction, container terminals, water supply, waste water treatment and sewerage master planning. He was the project directors
for two large scale air quality programmes in the Pearl River Delta Region and developed the first version of the Territory-wide Air Quality Modelling System for HKEPD.
Mr Cheung is currently the President of the Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong and Vice-President of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals. He was elected twice Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Environmental Impact Assessment. He also serves on the CIWEM Air Technical Panel and Advisory Committee on Environmental Science for Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong University or Science and Technology and has published papers on EIA and Air Quality Management in Hong Kong. |
