Hello to everyone! I am Nicolas, currently a Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. candidate studying genetics and rare diseases. I am raised in Hong Kong submerged in a multi-cultural background. I was told that I looked outgoing, but I’m actually an extroverted introvert according to a summary of my personality type, sensitive to feelings and emotions around me. I can be a thinker, an adventurist, or sometimes an art buff. The sport I’m currently doing the most is climbing; this takes away a huge amount of stress from my study, I would definitely recommend everyone to give it a try. Water sports such as kayaking or stand-up paddling are also some of my favourites. I have been an organizer for local hiking trips for about 2 years before when I started my Ph.D. journey, in fact, I have been to Tibet for a hike at approximately 4000m-5800m altitude and visited the Mt. Everest hah. The more static side of me comprises of boardgames, music, photography, paintings, readings, and of course studying and research…etc. The CW Chu College is known of its size, dynamism and the intimacy developed over time among its residents. While this shared experience would certainly be a big part of undergraduate learning, being a part of the family is also going to be a huge part of my postgraduate experience. Ideally, I wish to contribute constructively to our shared learning experiences in the days to come. Please really do let me know if you wish to join me climbing, hiking, or having fun over tables.
