The course aims at enhancing students’ clinical knowledge, skills and professional growth so that their clinical practice is conducted in an effective, efficient and responsible manner. The course focuses on facilitating students’ development of therapeutic skills which will enhance their effectiveness in working with families, couples and individuals. Counseling core competencies that a social service practitioner must possess will be examined. It will also explore interpersonal and/or intrapsychic domains which positively or negatively affect students’ competence in clinical practice.
