Media 2.0 X Society 21: Journalism and Audience Redefined

Introduction 

School of Journalism and Communication of The Chinese University of Hong Kong organizes the CU Visiting Scholar Program annually starting from 2008. "Media 2.0 X Society 21: Journalism and Audience Redefined" is the research theme for the 2012 CU Communication Visiting Scholar Program. The program will assume the form of an international conference to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Communication & Society Journal.


Objective
To promote academic exchange and links among Chinese-speaking scholars in Cultural China,
To improve the quality of research of the Chinese research community,
To promote the School as the center of Chinese communication research.


Schedule
(1) The visiting scholars are required to submit their full paper by 30 October 2011.
(2) The visiting scholars are expected to stay in Hong Kong for up to 7 days from 4 to 11 January 2012 to carry out intensive academic exchange and research.
(3) All of them will present a paper in an international conference.

Content: The visiting scholars will present papers on the theme of “Media 2.0 X Society 21: Journalism and Audience Redefined”.

Theme 1: Who Cites Whom? Academic Publishing and Communication Research
Theme 2: Liquid Journalism? Redefining Journalism
Theme 3: Towards Mass-self Communication? Redefining the Audience

Faculty members and research students are welcome to participate in the stimulating discussion after the presentation.
