Precision cosmology with the Einstein Telescope
by Anton Quelle
This report starts out by summarizing the relevant basic theoretical
considerations in the field of gravitational waves (GW). We do this to
lay the ground work for the discussion and evaluation of a method to do
cosmology with these GW. The methods currently prevalent in the
literature depend on both a GW detection and an electromagnetic (EM)
counterpart. The method discussed here is not dependent on such an EM
counterpart and as such it is well suited to performing independent
measurements of the cosmological parameters. To demonstrate the power of
the aforementioned method we show that for a network of three Einstein
Telescopes the value of H0 can be determined with a 2 sigma error
smaller than 10^-5.
