We are very pleased to announce that the Yale-China Chinese Teaching Fellowship Program 2019-20, which is jointly organised with the Yale-China Association in the US and New Asia College, is now open for application.  Two recent graduates, one from the New Asia College and one from the Faculty of Education, will be selected to be Chinese Language Teaching Fellows who serve as teaching assistants to Chinese language teachers in New Haven, Connecticut area schools and lead extracurricular activities at their host schools and organizations to forge lifelong bonds and mutual cross-cultural understanding with students, colleagues and the host community.


Recent graduates (who graduated in the years between 2013 and 2018) and final year students who are going to graduate in 2019 are cordially invited to apply for the Chinese Teaching Fellowship Program.  Please refer to the attachment for details of the Program:

There is also a virtual information session of the Program which presents useful information and timeline of the scheme. Further details of the Program can be obtained at the Yale-China Association website.


Under the Program, selected fellows will participate in the Teaching Fellowship orientation held on New Asia Campus in August.  After that, selected fellows will depart for the US in August for orientation and training prior to the start of the teaching in New Haven.  Apart from the economy class return air-tickets (HK/US) to be provided by the Program, when the fellows are in the US for this Program, housing, living stipend, orientation, training and health insurance will be provided by Yale-China Association together with New Asia College and the Faulty of Education of CUHK.  Besides, on-going support is provided by Yale-China Association staff from the Education Program with the strong engagement of the participating host schools and organizations.


The application deadline has been extended to Thursday, 13 June 2019.  If you are interested in joining, please submit the duly completed application form and application checklist together with all supporting documents as e-mail attachments to Ms. Angel Lam of Faculty of Education at angellam@cuhk.edu.hk.
