- For a teaching appointee who is to present a paper at a conference in a field of specialisation which is relevant to his/her appointment at the University
- To assist in the financing in whole or in part of (i) a direct non-stop economy class air passage between the Hong Kong International Airport and the international airport nearest to the conference venue and (ii) the registration fee for the conference

- To promote research collaboration between Hong Kong and France by providing researchers in the two locations with one-year and two-year travel grants. The scheme also offers grants to sponsor a conference/workshop in Hong Kong and France.

- Aims to foster EU-HK collaboration in academic research and support the participation of researchers in universities funded by the University Grants Committee in HK in joint research projects conducted under the framework of Horizon 2020
- Accepts research project proposals in science disciplines (viz. biology and medicine, engineering and physical sciences), as well as exchange (mobility) proposals in all disciplines
